The Top 9 Ways to Remodel Your Kitchen

No matter how stylish your kitchen may have been when it was built, like clothes, cars, and hairstyles, eventually it will look dated too.

The problem?  Not everyone has the time (or money) to reinvent their entire remodel your kitchen when it needs it. There is hope, however.

There are top 9 Ways to Remodel Your Kitchen some new life without breaking the bank.  Many you can even handle yourself over a weekend.

1. Put Up a Pot Rack

Pots, pans, and skillets automatically add a certain charm to a kitchen.  Their functional and industrial look is a great way to add décor to your space as well as convenience.

You don’t even need to run out and buy a traditional rack.  One woman I knew took a few feet of chain, two screw eyes, a 2” diameter dowel rod and some ceiling hooks and hung a Pot “trapeze” down the center of her island.  Once installed, she used S-hooks to hang her cookware from the rod for an amazing-looking kitchen display.

Don’t have ceiling space but do have wall space?  Put up some shelving with hooks underneath, or channel your inner Julia Child and use pegboard.

2. Create an Accent Wall with Paint

The easiest way to bring a healthy pop of color to a kitchen?  Paint a single wall any color you want.

This is a chance to get crazy!  Since its only one wall, it’s easy to update if you get bored.

3. Paint the Floor

While you have your painting supplies out, consider this route.  Painting the floor is especially good for older remodel your kitchen with worn-out wooden floors you can’t afford to replace yet. For tips on how to get the best results, check out this post by Sherwin-Williams.

4. Add Open Shelving

If replacing your old cabinets with new ones isn’t an option, there’s nothing written that says you have to hang onto them in the meantime.  At least not the uppers.

For not a lot of money, you can buy shelving to put up in the place of your uppers, or in an area that isn’t being utilized.  Or both. Not sure about the look?  Start by taking the doors off your current cabinets and organizing them the same way you would shelving.

Stack your dishware so its displayed nicely and choose your more decorative cookware to fill out the area.

5. Replace Your Cabinet’s Hardware

The nicest looking cabinets can be brought down by outdated or cheap looking hardware.  For a quick update, pick out new pulls and knobs for your cabinets.

6. Change and Add Light Fixtures

Lighting styles seem to change even faster than overall kitchen styles do.  If your lighting, or lack of it, is bringing you down remodel your kitchen pizzazz, and update them with today’s pendants and under-counter fixtures.

This is a good option for cabinets that are really good quality and solidly made.  Instead of ripping out someone’s amazing artistry, just update the part of the shows.

Replacing the cabinet doors and drawer fronts will with you the updated look you want, without the excess dust and debris.

9. Replace the counter top.

If you are happy with the footprint of remodeling your K

itchen but tired of that laminate countertop, this is an easy fix.  For the best results, you will want to bring in a professional for this one, but it will still be much less expensive than redoing the entire kitchen.
